For Hexagon, the project represents a significant milestone as it marks the first deployment of its automated optical CALIPRI technology on India’s national railway network. The systems will be installed at four strategically selected locations: Wagon Yard Tughlakabad and Anand Vihar Coaching Depot in Delhi, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction in Mughalsarai, and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai.
The project also builds on more than 15 years of experience with handheld CALIPRI devices across India’s metro systems, with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) serving as the technical consultant. This latest development further highlights the growing contribution of Austrian innovation to India’s railway infrastructure modernization.
